Mr Morales has captured the spirit of the frontier in these pieces. |

Artist Profile: Shuswap Artist John Jones was born in 1959 in Enderby,BC. Raised on the Spallumcheen Indian Band Reserve by his Grandmother, he learned the traditional practices of the Shuswap people. He studied at Simon Fraser University, and the University of Lethbridge, taking Native American Studies. His carvings recount the history and stories of the Shuswap People. He has shown in various Art Galleries, in the Okanagan and in Vancouver. Presently, John has a showing of his work at the Kelowna(BC) Airport. He sculpts in various types of stone, including Brazilian Soapstone, African Wonderstone, Alabaster, and Shuswap Soapstone. |
